Explore Brussels ?
The word of presentation
Explore.Brussels is a network of associations offering quality guided tours in the Brussels-Capital Region.
Founded in 1994 and transformed into an ASBL in 2015, it brings together the following member associations ARAU, Arkadia, Bruxelles Bavard and Pro Velo.
The Foundry (2020) and Korei (2021) have joined the network as partner associations.
The network centralizes a varied and coherent offering, providing visitors with a wide range of guided tour themes at no extra cost, thus avoiding competition between members.
Their shared mission is to promote the tangible and intangible heritage of the Brussels-Capital Region.
Explore.Brussels also works with its members to develop large-scale guided interior tour events that an association could not develop on its own. The best-known event is the Brussels Art Nouveau & Art Deco (BANAD) Festival.
Explore.Brussels specializes in Brussels' Art Nouveau and Art Deco heritage, and is also a pioneer in the promotion of neoclassical and eclectic heritage. As such, it also develops other projects related to these themes.

Themes
In addition to Art Nouveau, Art Deco, neoclassical and eclecticism, the platform's guided tour offering includes themes as varied as green spaces, art, comics, gastronomy, folklore, history, heritage, Europe... a range of possibilities from classics such as the Grand-Place, beer and chocolate, to the exceptional, the unexpected and little-known gems, over 500 themes in all.
Tours for individual visitors are available all year round, in French, Dutch, English and German.
These tours can be organized on foot, by bike, by coach or by boat.
All tours can be organized for groups, all year round and in many languages.
Special tours are organized for schoolchildren and people with reduced mobility.
Events and projects
At the heart of Explore.Brussels' events are guided tours of remarkable interiors usually closed to the public.
Thanks to the collaboration of numerous partners, activities are organized around them, also highlighting the architectural heritage: exhibitions, lectures, guided tours, concerts, theme evenings, family activities...
Visit Brussels Art Nouveau & Art Deco (BANAD) Festival puts these two architectural styles in the spotlight every March.
Visit Brussels Biennale - Neoclassic (BBN) looks at this architectural style of the long 19th century, as well as the region's urban development, which still governs many of the principles we know today.
Visit Brussels Biennale of Eclectic Artchitecture (BBEA) discusses this architectural style, which spans the period from 1840 to Art Nouveau and Modernism.
The’Master Hotels offers guided tours of selected Art Nouveau sites every 1st Saturday of the month and all year round on request for groups.
In addition to these guided tour events, Explore.Brussels is the organizer of the guide training, from Owners' Club, from club des Amis Explore.Brussels and also offers an Art Nouveau walking map.
Explore.Brussels values
Respect: for places visited, heritage, partners, the public, the environment
Professionalism and expertise: quality of tours and activities, content, guides, reception, partners
Synergy and team spirit: collaboration and communication with partners, quality of work within teams (permanent, temporary, guides, students, etc.).
Commitment and passion: of all employees and partners in the implementation of the various projects
Freedom and autonomy: in the creativity of both internal and external projects.
It brings together member associations ARAU, Arkadia, Bruxelles Bavard and Pro Velo and partner associations The Foundry and Korei.
Partner associations are limited to offering guided tours, and are not specifically involved in the development of in-house projects. They may be partners in one or more projects, but this is not systematic.
The Explore.Brussels team is made up of a permanent staff and temporary teams during event periods.
The permanent team is made up of a Director, an Administrative and Financial Coordinator, a Scientific Coordinator, a Logistics Officer, a Receptionist, an Administrative Assistant and 4 Project Managers who represent their member associations and contribute their knowledge to project development.
